Earth Hour is probably the largest environmental and climate campaign in the world. It is about setting a clear signal together: On March 28 at 8:30 p.m. (in the relevant time zone), all lights will be switched off for one hour. From landmarks to shop window lights and street lamps to lights in private homes - it will be dark for one hour so that for once a lot of light can be shed on the topics of the environment and biodiversity. The aim of the campaign is not to save the world. Rather, it is an appeal to political decision-makers to finally see the light. Because the bigger the campaign and participation, the bigger the message. And NIKIN will also be doing its bit for "Earth Hour" - you can see how in the video.
In Switzerland, too, entire cities, companies and many private individuals have been taking part in the campaign for several years. How you can take part and do your bit for the campaign is simple: switch off the lights! Refrain from switching on the lights for one hour from 8:30 pm. Instead, you can light a nice candle or a lantern during this time. Or you can have a candlelight dinner with a loved one. The dim atmosphere also encourages in-depth conversations where you can concentrate fully on the other person for once. Perhaps this will lead to topics of conversation that would otherwise not come up.
You can also make the most of the hour by calling a loved one. The starry sky can also be wonderfully observed in the dark. The "Earth Hour" campaign will not simply make light pollution in Switzerland disappear completely. However, if you don't like the campaign at all, you can simply go to bed earlier for once - it will always be darker and it will help you sleep.
Like the logo for NIKIN, the logo for the Traceable TreeShirt was created by NIKIN co-founder Robin Gnehm. It was important to him to design the logo for the Traceable TreeShirt in the same style as the NIKIN logo. At the same time, he wanted to make sure that the logo conveyed a clear message in a simple way. When thinking about the theme, he went back to the origin of cotton and wanted to symbolize it as clearly as possible in the logo. DNA, in turn, is the origin of every human being. Robin also associates plants above all with growth and the symbolic blossoming of transparency - a theme that is becoming increasingly important. After several drafts, he finally decided on a combination of DNA strand and blossoming cotton.

The starry sky is also wonderful to watch in the dark. Although the "Earth Hour" campaign will not simply make light pollution in Switzerland disappear completely, it is always good to look up at the sky and simply reflect. Just wrap up warm. And if you can't do anything with the campaign, you can simply go to bed earlier than usual for once - it will always be darker and it will help you sleep.
