Why Green November
With the motto "green is the new black", NIKIN strengthens a more sustainable consumption awareness and thus inspires other companies and hopefully you too.

During Green November, NIKIN collects money for forest protection projects. Traditionally, NIKIN donates one franc or euro per order during November.

We get other, like-minded companies on board. They too donate individual amounts to forest conservation projects in the name of Green November.

And so it goes
As a sustainable fashion label, NIKIN campaigns for more consumer awareness. As the initiator of "Green November", we want to inspire other companies and the community to consume more sustainably. Companies from Switzerland, but also from other countries, can join the Green November and collect money for forest protection projects together with us instead of offering discounts. Green November is an extension of the Green Fridaywhich we have been celebrating instead of Black Friday for several years.
But how does it work exactly?
Every company that participates donates a portion of its turnover during Green November (01.11 -31.11) to selected local projects. NIKIN itself, for example, donates one franc or euro per order during Green November. The various partners donate either fixed amounts or also per product or order.

That makes us very happy! You can contact us at any time and we will get back to you as soon as possible. It's also best to let us know if you would like to donate a fixed amount, an amount per order or a contribution per other size for Green November.
What can I do as an individual?
Make companies and your fellow citizens aware of Green November! Find out from your favourite labels if and why they are offering discounts. Communicate that sustainability is important to you and, if you are not completely convinced of the values and production methods, you may decide to forego a purchase or two.
The Green November 2021 projects
Which forest protection projects will we support together during "Green November 2021"? The donations will be collected in Germany and Switzerland and will flow into local projects that are committed to forest protection and reforestation. For here, too, forests are increasingly threatened by bark beetles and natural events. All donations from Switzerland go to Bergwaldprojekt, while the money from Germany goes to TreePlantingProjects.
The Mountain Forest Project is a non-profit foundation based in Trin in the canton of Graubünden. Since 1987, the Mountain Forest Project has been committed to the preservation, maintenance and protection of the forest and cultural landscape in the mountain region. Every year, around 2,500 volunteers work at over 40 locations in Switzerland, making an important contribution to preserving the diverse protective effects of the mountain forest.
The TreePlantingProjects agency from Germany consists of a 15-member team and a volunteer community. Thanks to donations, they lease forests on private property for 7 years and establish a climate-resistant mixed forest. Currently, 75 projects are running, most of them in Bavaria.

NIKIN Clean Up Day: the community collected 158kg of rubbish!
In the Swiss cities of Basel, Bern, Lenzburg and Zurich, NIKIN worked with the community to collect and dispose of 158 kilograms of waste last Saturday. The action took place as part of the worldwide Clean Up Day. For every kilogram collected, we are now planting one Tree. Why there will be 218 trees and not "only" 158, you can read in the blog.
