Halloween costume to scare: the Tree monster

Costume Tree-monster

We love trees: they provide us with the air we breathe, are home to many animals, and are the livelihood of people all over the world. But imagine if there were a Tree monster. It would live in the treetops high above our heads, swinging from branch to branch and frightening anyone who came near it. Because it camouflages itself with leaves, it is hardly recognizable - and it is happy about every frightened face. This is the Tree monster and you or your children can turn into one on Halloween.

What you need for it

  • 1 old T-shirt
  • Safety pins
  • collected leaves

Step 1

Search the forest for leaves in different colours. Sort the collected leaves by size and form a row starting with the biggest leaf and ending with the smallest. To attach the leaves together, we recommend braiding the leaf stems. The braiding principle is similar to that of the flower wreath. However, you do not close the end. The length of such a garland should be as long as your T-shirt. We recommend weaving between one and four such garlands.

Step 2

Now place the leaf garlands on the shirt as you like it best. To attach them to the shirt, use safety pins. One at the top, bottom and middle of the garland. This is the best way to hold it in place. Arrange your leaf garlands however you like. The Halloween costume is ready. Please put it on carefully so you don't hurt yourself with the safety pins.

Halloween costume to dream: the Tree princess or the Tree prince

Tree-Princess

There is something calming, contemplative and almost magical about trees. No wonder, then, that Tree princesses and Tree princes prefer to cavort in trees. They chirp lovely songs together with the birds, sun themselves on the branches of the highest trees and watch the people walking under the trees. And every now and then - very rarely - they glide down from their trees, look at the world and are recognizable only by their Tree crown. You might feel the same way on Halloween. We'll show you how to become a Tree princess or a Tree prince.

What you need for it

  • 1 old hairband
  • 1 pair of scissors
  • Colour (if you want to be even more creative)
  • Nylon wire or string
  • Adhesive
  • Textile ribbon
  • gathered branches
  • collected leaves
  • acorns gathered

Step 1

Collect branches, leaves and oak trees. Arrange the branches left and right around the headband as you like them best. Attach them with nylon wire or string.

Step 2

Place the leaves on the left and right side between the branches, it is recommended to start with the big ones and decorate with the small leaves upwards. The leaves can be attached with nylon wire, string or glue.

Step 3

The collected acorns should be well attached to the hair bands or leaves with a glue.

Step 4

To make the crown more comfortable to wear, it is recommended to wrap the branches and the hairband with a textile ribbon on the left and right, this way the cords and nylon wires will not be visible and wearing the crown will be more comfortable. If you wish, you can decorate the Tree crown with paint.

This is how quickly you can become a Tree prince or Tree princess. Just give it a try!
