Ideas for autumn - within your own four walls

Cold and rainy months are just around the corner. Autumn is here and, after the long summer, invites us to slow down a little and enjoy time within our own four walls.

Autumn has officially arrived, which means we have to say goodbye to many summer activities. This year, it was all the more drastic as Corona forced us to move many activities outside to make them possible. Of course, this wasn't a problem when the weather was fine, but now that the cold months are approaching, we want to be able to entertain ourselves indoors. Socializing with friends, celebrating parties, cultural events, sports and games are currently possible and safe outside again - always with the appropriate distance. Now that autumn is here, this inevitably means that many outdoor events will be scaled back for the time being. But that's no reason to despair, because there are plenty of things you can easily do within your own four walls. Of course, it depends a little on whether you live alone or in a relationship or family.

The challenge of entertaining children

At least they are going back to school, hopefully without any further interruptions. But events at the sports club, children's birthday parties or movies are not yet running like they did before Corona - or in summer. Creativity is required, because the children shouldn't end up in front of the TV. Neither should their parents...

Fortunately, there are lots of things families can do together - and they're all fun!

  • Shopping and cooking together - and as healthy as possible. Now that it's fall, this can also include making your own jams or preserves. Tastes better than bought and puts you in a good mood on rainy weekends.
  • Board games - offline. Of course everyone has a tablet or smartphone. But it's easy to forget how much fun you can have with puzzles, card games or Monopoly. Chess is recommended for the more demanding.
  • Painting or crafting together is not just for parents with small children. Older children can learn to knit or embroider, try their hand at making small, home-made gifts and even create their own designs on the computer.
  • Singing and making music - an all-time classic that cannot be replaced by playing MP3s. A good mood guaranteed.

Ideas for couples

If you're newly in love, you're probably looking forward to autumn, because where is it more cozy than together in your own four walls? Couples who have been together for longer and were used to a varied social life and professional commitments now have to make do with fewer friends - and more working from home. Seeing each other all the time can be detrimental to mutual attraction. Therefore, above all:

  • Create space and do things on your own from time to time.
  • Consciously organize your free time instead of hanging out in front of the TV.
  • Going for walks together.
  • Watching selected movies together (including talking about them afterwards).
  • Start a project together: How about learning or brushing up on a language? Autumn certainly offers enough dull days for a private conversation course.
  • Board games are also an exciting and fun way for adults to spend a nice evening together - and for the more adventurous, there are also erotic versions that can be a breath of fresh air in long-term relationships.

Who is alone now...

... that's not a problem! Being alone also has its advantages, because as a single person you are free to decide how you spend your time. There are many things you can do within your own four walls:

  • Wellness afternoons or evenings at home, with chic bath products, exfoliation and a soothing face mask (no protective mask for once) and a glass of Prosecco on the edge of the bath.
  • Finally read all those books that have been waiting for months... or discover new, exciting authors.
  • Plan your own activities - even in the Corona fall there will be one or two things worth seeing in the area.
  • Integrate workouts at home into your daily routine.
  • Instead of devouring frozen pizzas in front of the TV, cook healthy meals from fresh ingredients.
  • Doing handicrafts, decorating, making the home a little different and interesting.

There's plenty to do - let's go!

Even in the fall, there are all sorts of things you can do to make your own four walls nice and interesting. The gradual winding down of summer activities doesn't have to be a disadvantage - a little peace and quiet and reflection might do us good right now. Time to think about where the journey should take us. With your own life, professionally and privately.

We at NIKIN would like to inspire our community with tips and tricks for everyday life. Autumn and winter are on their way, especially with the corona-related restrictions, we are forced to spend our free time within our own four walls. The coming months will certainly bring cooler and rainier weather again - that's why we want to help our community feel great in the fall with our tips.
