The NIKIN team is growing and growing.
After the rapid growth in orders, Robin and Nicholas decided to register NIKIN as a limited company. With that, NIKIN was officially born. As of 1 January 2018, NIKIN was registered in the commercial register. In the meantime, Nicholas' wife Carla Hänny joined the team and took over all financial matters. They also hired their first employee Jonas. He took over all the logistics - and still works there today.
The former NIKIN team celebrates the entry in the commercial register.
Then, in summer 2018, Nicholas and Robin decided that NIKIN needed a new logo. They met one Sunday afternoon at Lake Sempach. Robin brought along some logos he had designed himself. The two agreed on the best few and sent them to all their friends via Whatsapp asking for their opinion. All the logos had a similar style. To add a little variety, they also sent along one that was completely different and not actually available for selection. Of all things, the completely different logo was the clear winner of the vote and is now the official NIKIN logo and can be found on every product.
The clear winner of the vote was this logo.
Meanwhile, NIKIN has hired support for Jonas in the warehouse. Regula takes over the logistics and processes the countless orders together with Jonas. In order to have more storage capacity, NIKIN moves to the Wisa-Gloria site in Lenzburg. Soon, NIKIN rents more and more rooms. The peak of orders is Black Friday (at NIKIN Green Friday ) 2018, when the logistics team packs more parcels than ever before in one day. The post office driver who collects the parcels and has his first day at work even has to stack the parcels on the passenger seat.
NIKIN planted two trees per product sold at Green Friday . Regula and Jonas had their hands full packing the many orders.
The next highlight follows shortly after Green Friday . Around Christmas, more and more people want to do something good for the environment and order from NIKIN. Since NIKIN still wants to label each tree certificate by hand, they hire extra employees to write the names on the certificates during the Christmas season.
The hard-working warehouse staff fill out each certificate by hand, even during the Christmas rush.
In the meantime, NIKIN has even become so well known that an enthusiastic customer has had the logo tattooed on her.
A NIKIN customer got the NIKIN logo as a tattoo.
More and more orders are coming in, which means that NIKIN can also employ more and more people. In October 2019, there are 28 people behind NIKIN who work every day to advance global reforestation.

Great story! Did I not read where the name "Nikin" comes from, or did you not tell it anywhere?

Dear Verena,
Thank you for your comment! :) How exactly the collected money is used for planting trees is explained pretty well under "Tree Planting" (main menu page) :)
We would also love to take a look at your project!
Greetings, NIKIN Team
My oneline portal is called www.reforestationworld.org.Es,sammelt and connects reforestation organisations worldwide.I find your web presence a bit confusing.I am of course positive in principle, but one should find out more quickly how and where the money earned is used. The founding history is of less interest. At least one can see from the success that the topic is attracting increasing attention, which is urgently needed.Could you get in touch with refworld, see website.
