New section for old jeans: the NIKIN TreePullover Recycled Jeans
The textile industry faces many challenges. These include overproduction and fast fashion consumption. To break this cycle, NIKIN joined the Texcircle project, which was launched by the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HSLU). Our common goal was to close the textile cycle. Within the Texcircle project we want to give used jeans a new life instead of letting them end up in the trash.

You spin me right round - this is how the RECYCLING cycle works
- Material origin: Old jeans from Switzerland find their way into TEXAID containers.
- Sorting out at TEXAID: Here the jeans are carefully sorted out and cleaned.
- Recycling at CETI: The jeans are torn into short fibers, ready for the next step.
- Rieter spinning mill: With an admixture of organic cotton, the fibers are spun into yarn.
- Delivery to NIKIN: The yarn is stored safely in our office.
- Manufacturing at the textile manufacturer Innolana: Our TreePullover Recycled Jeans are created - environmentally conscious and stylish.
