NIKIN is committed to sustainability and transparency in the fashion industry. Today we would like to introduce you two new suppliers from Lithuania: Skinija and Utenos.
The cooperation with Skinija and Utenos from Lithuania is an important part of NIKIN's strategy to produce sustainable clothing and accessories in Europe. The choice of production sites is not only based on geographical proximity, but also on the values shared by NIKIN and its partners. Lithuania is a country with a long tradition in the textile industry. Since independence in 1990, the industry has modernized and moved to higher standards of sustainability and work ethics.

More than just socks
Curtain up for: Skinija. The company is a leading socks and tights manufacturer in Lithuania and was founded in 1996. Skinija has been producing socks for various professional sports teams and outdoor brands for years - and from now on also our NIKIN TreeSocks. The socks are made from high quality raw materials, which means that they are produced both ecologically and in compliance with strict labor ethics.

Everything under one roof
Clear the stage for: Utenos trikotažas. Our second newcomer in the manufacturer circle is the largest and most modern knitwear manufacturer in Central and Eastern Europe. The company works with a vertical manufacturing model, where everything from the design concept and yarn to the finished product h is created. This allows Utenos to ensure production quality and apply the highest standards of sustainability and work ethics. The production of NIKIN bodywear tops and shirts also takes place in their production facilities. Exciting Fact: Utenos is an official supplier for Greenpeace because almost no one else meets their criteria.

Visiting Lithuania
NIKIN-co-founder Robin Gnehm visited the sites a few weeks ago and is thrilled with the quality and sustainability of their work. "Utenos is one of the strongest suppliers NIKIN has met and has several certificates and tests to ensure ecological production," Robin reports. Production takes place almost entirely in-house, which ensures a high level of control over the quality of the products. Skinija has also impressed Robin with its flexibility and reliability. "Basically, NIKIN is looking not only for suppliers who produce our goods, but for manufacturers whose values match ours. After all, we prefer to build long-term partnerships," Robin emphasizes.
