Circularity is not a trend for us at NIKIN , but a clear goal. We want to become 100% circular by 2030. This requires not only sustainable design, but also materials that truly close the loop. close the cycle. With NOOSA® we are making exactly that possible and the material brings us another step closer to our goal.closer to our goal. What is NOOSA®, what can it do and why are we using it?
NIKIN's path to circularity with NOOSA®
After the first successful steps with products made from naNea, we are now looking forward to continuing on this path with another circular material: NOOSA®. With this innovative fiber, we are introducing two new products to our Circular Collection. One is a circular treeanie and the other is a circular sock bundle. Both products are designed to be fully recyclable while remaining comfortable to wear, durable and functional.
By the way: If you would like to find out more about our circularity strategy - and how we want to achieve our ambitious goal - then take a look here.
What is NOOSA® and what makes this fiber so special?
NOOSA® is a bio-based fiber developed by a Belgian start-up. It consists of polylactide (PLA), a material obtained from corn starch, or more precisely from the residues of sugar production. This means that NOOSA® is based on a renewable raw material that is not in direct competition with food production. What makes NOOSA® really special is the company's proprietary NOOCYCLE® technology. This enables products made from NOOSA® to be completely recycled, not just once, but over and over again. The result: a fiber that remains in the cycle and leaves no waste behind, making it a perfect fit for NIKIN .
In addition to its circularity, NOOSA® is also characterized by the fact that it is a material that is very suitable for everyday clothing that is worn close to the skin, such as our socks. It is breathable, hypoallergenic, odor-inhibiting and bacteriostatic, i.e. it actively prevents the growth of bacteria.

How NOOSA® recycling works
For a material to be truly circular, it needs not only recyclability, but also a well thought-out recycling process. This is carried out by the company's own NOOCYCLE® technology from NOOSA®. When a discharged product is returned, it is first sent to the specially designed NOOSA® recycling plants, where the fiber is completely recycled. chemically recycled is processed. This means that the polylactide fibers are broken down at a molecular level and then reprocessed into new raw fiber without any loss of quality.
In contrast to conventional textile recycling, which usually produces an inferior recycled fiber, NOOSA® retains the full quality. The fiber can therefore be used again and again without the need to add new raw materials. In this way, a used treeanie or pair of socks becomes new, high-quality material that is ready for the next product life.
Our new circular products made from NOOSA®
Our Circular Collection continues to grow with the Treeanie Circular Navy and the TreeSocks Bundle Circular Multicolor. These two new products show how everyday life, comfort and true circularity can be combined, as both are made from the innovative NOOSA® fiber, which is plant-based and fully recyclable. And best of all, both the treeanie and the socks are part of our "Circular Cashback" program. The longer you wear and care for them, the more money you get when you return them at the end and we can put them back into the cycle.
You can find all the details on how the "Circular Cashback" program works, how much money you get back and when, and how the products are returned to us in our "Circular Cashback" portal.

Together towards 100% circularity
With our new NOOSA® products, we are taking a further step on our path to 100% circular clothing by 2030. However, this path consists not only of new materials, but also of a fundamental rethink: we are questioning existing processes, consistently developing our designs further and working with partners who share our vision of creating a textile industry in which resources are not wasted, but kept in circulation.
And you are an important part of this, because with every circular product you choose long-lasting alternatives and help to close loops instead of creating new waste. Thank you for not just watching, but actively participating and rethinking fashion with us for a greener future, step by step and tree by tree.
